Each year, in January, we are eager to learn about the fashion trends of the new year. Because the beginning of a year is a time of something new and fresh. We are dying to find out what we are going to wear. What is in trend? I am a jewelry designer, that is why it is quite natural that I want and need to know the jewelry trends 2022.
Usually, the majority of trends continue. Naturally, they don’t stay unchanged. On the contrary, they do develop. At the same time, some new trends appear. I would mention bracelets worn high on the arm. Or paired bracelets as new jewelry trends.
Among the existing jewelry trends 2022 I would mention layering, chains, large pendants… For how long will they last? I think these trends will last for many years. Of course, the designers will offer new elements to these designs; however, these trends are here to stay. Naturally, we look at runways for inspiration and direction.
Today, we see pearls offered by many designers. And what is eye-catching – pearls are worn with chic and style!
What is so appealing in jewelry trends 2022?
Probably, it is connected with what is happening around us. For the second year in a row, we are living in the world of pandemics. Which is not fun. We are confined in our homes. We rarely see our family and our friends. Neither do we attend the social events as there are practically none. Instead, whether we like it or not, we are using Zoom or WhatsUp.
And we are dreaming about a time when this will change, and life will renew. However, I think, in the meantime, we have changed a lot. Hopefully, for the better. As we start appreciating family and relationships more and more. We value each day in our lives as we understand that life is fragile.
As a result, we are willing to enjoy life and have a holiday every day. Thus, it is not a surprise that we frequently hear the words “everyday luxury”, “casual chic” describing clothing and accessories. We don’t want to wait for a big holiday to put on our nice outfit or jewelry. On the contrary, we want to look chic and trendy every day. We want to have a holiday as we are healthy and alive!
Consequently, looking at jewelry trends 2022, we notice this approach and attitude.
The power of accessories
More and more, people see jewelry as a fashion accessory. Actually, we cannot underestimate the power of accessories. Let me give you an example. You may wear a trivial black or grey sweater and a black skirt. Boring? I agree. However, it is possible to look stylish and unique with the same outfit. How to do this?
We put on accessories. A list of accessories is long. It comprises scarves, belts, gloves, shawls. And do not forget about jewelry!
As jewelry trends 2022, we are offered jewelry that may be worn every day, with any outfit. It is not something that stays in a jewelry box and that is worn once a year when we attend a party. Obviously, we see accessories like this on the catwalk. This includes big statement pieces, including earrings and necklaces.
But at the same time, we see jewelry that we may wear every day: bracelets, chains with big pendants, chokers….
Pearl jewelry is omnipresent!
And, of course, pearls. As a matter of fact, we see a lot of pearls. Pearls are becoming omnipresent, and the diversity of pearl jewelry that is worn on the catwalks is astounding! And pearl jewelry looks astounding and chic.
Moreover, today, we see pearls not only in the form of jewelry. Pearls are used to embellish hats and caps, gloves, bags, shoes..
I do remember that a few years ago I had to convince some people that pearls are beautiful, elegant, and stylish. They used to know so little about pearls. Today, it goes without saying that pearl jewelry is precious and classy.
